Don't forget to have the wings at Bartletts when you are there for your steak.

With 5 places to judge, I have some work to do. Should I have wings at all 5 with steak? Also are we to consider desert?

Regarding the wings, I cannot speak to other places; I just recommend those at Bartletts for the extra tasty step they take, viz., smoking. The three way tie is pretty amazing. For those who voted for the Blue Chip Steak join, I want to hear some details!!! Magnolia and I dined alone at William B's Steakhouse a few weeks ago. For starters, we both had the Apple and Baby Spinach Salad. It was awesome and solely worth the trip!!! Magnolia choose to have an appetizer sampler instead of an entrée and I had a steak dish. We each ordered a side dish and shared. Dinner, including tip & alcohol (I had 2 beers) was ~$90. That may sound high to some people, but it is comparable to a Chicago type steakhouse like the Weber Grill. The service was excellent, and the food was not only good but the portions were enormous. There was enough for a take home container for a second meal. Next time around Magnolia and I will each order a salad, split an entrée and dessert. Welcome to the Michigan City Area Schools, we are over budget, over paid, overwhelmed ... |

I haven't done this, but a friend told me she goes to the bar at William B's and gets an appetizer. It's a cheaper way to get some of the experience and deliciousness.

I have a hard time going to the casino, let alone enjoying a meal there. I dunno, something about making a living off peoples vices I guess.

I'm with you on that. I've gone to the Casino twice, for about an hour because I'd never been to one before. It's just not for me and I forget there's a restaurant in there! Maybe I would go to the restaurant if they had an outside entrance so you wouldn't have to follow the herd.
Nothing is worth more than this day!

I had dinner at the Casino once, but that was a while ago and don't even know if it's the same place-it was on the boat not the barge. I wasn't too impressed, but like the others here, I'm not a fan of the casino. I suffer from claustrophobia and something about that place, with all the bells ringing and people making noise, etc., causes me to have panic attacks, so I don't go in there. In all the years that place has been open, I've been there only three times, and never for longer than an hour.

I haven't been to the new place, but the old one was way too expensive for the food it served. They changed Chicago prices for a steak you could have had a couple of other places in City. |

I have a hard time going to the casino, let alone enjoying a meal there. I dunno, something about making a living off peoples vices I guess. For the longest time I felt the same way. I've never been to the boat. I saw it as one step away from legal heroin sales. Now my dad was way into it from the money the city gets angle. We were talknig about it, and he asked if I thought we should close all the liquor stores because chronic alcoholics can go there and buy booze. THat made sense. I'm still not into it but I'm not so down on it anymore. |
