SSider:
The third photo you posted on March 11, 2007 is awe-inspiring. For the lake to be that calm, and the sky to match the lake so precisely... Yes, I know I'm a behind the times, but I wanted to comment on that photo, point it out so that a few other people blow it up and look at it, and let you know I am using it for my desktop wallpaper at school. I hope I don't owe you any residuals. "The country needs and, unless I mistake its temper, the country demands bold, persistent experimentation. It is common sense to take a method and try it: If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something."

I was looking at a bunch of stuff in flickr, and it confirmed my feeling that the digital cameras are a different beast than film. Less art, you know.

I am referring to all the photoshopping that is done. That can be done just as easily with a print that has been scanned. But you're right, there is a lot of photshopping done on flickr...as well as some pics that people have lifted from others, yet claim the be their own. |

I am referring to all the photoshopping that is done. Huh. I find it interesting that someone who can't post a picture on a blog is able to discern which images are photo shopped and which aren't. For what it's worth, the pics that I've posted here have no photo chopping. That said, I would think there is an abundance of "art" with the advent of programs such as photo shop. If it's not art, I suppose it's correct in saying that now more than ever the populous is able to flex their creative muscle a lot easier now than in the dark room days. Same thing goes for film or lack of. Now that very high quality pro-sumer video camera's are available, it's much more accessible for the average Joe to make a good looking film. This means there is a lot of junk out there (check out youtube) but this also gives a lot of people opportunities that they wouldn't have had 20 years ago. |

A few quick pics from my quick vacation to Silver Lake, Michigan. My family has spent a week up there every summer, except one, since 1970. It's beautiful. What I like to do most is run across the dunes to Lake Michigan at sunrise (or sunset, although it's more crowded then). This time I took a camera with.

Nice! The "litterbox on the lake!" lol. I've been there many times on my Momo sickle but only in the off season. Crazy place in the summer!
