Just heard Hannah's in New Buffalo has closed up for good. Sad to hear it go, was always a good place to eat, alot of Chicago celebs used to stop and dine there, I had actually met Muhammad Ali there once.

Wow, how sad. The wife and I had an anniversary dinner up there once. It was a great place.

Wow, that is sad. I actually worked there one summer in college. The owners were good people. I still give them credit every time I make my twice baked potatoes!! And their onion straws were the best.

The wife and I ate there last year and had a sub-par experience. You could tell things were not going well. It was like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares with Chef Gordon Ramsay.

I've read some of the reviews on a couple of the travel sites and alot of other folks agree that they have really seemed to have went downhill in recent years.

New Buffalo restaurant set to reopen under new ownership
By Stan Maddux Times Correspondent | Posted: Monday, March 26, 2012 5:57 pm | No Comments Posted

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. | After closing nearly three years ago, a once popular destination restaurant in New Buffalo will reopen under new ownership and somewhat different name.

Hannah's and Harry's will go into the former Hannah's restaurant on Whittaker Street just south of U.S. 12.

One of the owners, Robert Cobb, operates a 1950s-themed restaurant called Harpoon Harry's in Key West, Florida.

New Buffalo mayor Rusty Geisler described the incoming restaurant as an American bistro.

Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce executive director Viki Gudas said the sale of Hannah's indicates the economy, judging by recent positive signs in housing sales, is beginning to turn around.

Gudas said when Hannah's was open there were a lot of license plates on vehicles parked outside Hannah's from Northwest Indiana and Illinois.

"It was so loved by tourists and locals alike. We're so excited it's going to be open again," Gudas said.
