Michigan City, Ind. -- Vanair Manufacturing is pleased to announce the company has reached an agreement for the acquisition of Air N Arc, Inc. Air N Arc operations will relocate to Vanair’s new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Michigan City, Indiana from their current facility in Hiawatha, Kansas.

To assure a seamless transition President Vince Eck, Sales Manager Dean Strathman, and Production Manager Donnie Stone will be joining Vanair as part of the acquisition. Along with these key personnel, Vanair will maintain the current Air N Arc product line and dealer network. This will ensure that customers, dealers and distributors will experience no disruption in the support and service of Air N Arc products.

Air N Arc Mfg. has a complete line of Welder/Generator/Air Compressor/DC Booster combination packages that are specially tailored for the work truck industry. All of their All-In-One Power Systems are designed to mount into standard service bodies without body modification and allow the user easy access to controls and utilities. The systems include Gasoline, Diesel & Hydraulically driven systems.

“Both companies have pioneered markets and developed innovative products and technologies within their respective industries. Due to the strengths that the two companies have and synergies between their product lines, we feel that this move will bring even more innovative solutions to the work truck industry,” Vince Eck concluded.

With the addition of Air N Arc into the Vanair family of products, the company will now be able to offer products that meet all the features customers would need in the field. Vanair President, Greg Kokot explains, “The acquisition of Air N Arc provides us an excellent opportunity to offer a product segment which we were not
currently offering.

The “All-In-One” Compressor/Generator/Welder/DC Booster packages that Air N Arc manufacturers is a natural and complimentary extension of Vanair’s existing product line.

"Kokot concluded, “With this acquisition our dealers/distributors and their end customers can know with full confidence that with one call they can find the right product which best meets their application.”

Ralph Kokot, CEO of Vanair states, “Air N Arc enhances Vanair's position in the market with the most comprehensive line of vehicle-mounted power solutions available. Vanair's financial strength will provide the necessary resources for further product development for the Air N Arc family of products. Dealers and distributors
will now have the benefits of true one-stop-shopping for all of the vehicle-mounted power applications.”

Vanair is recognized as the world’s largest manufacturer of vehicle-mounted air compressors, generators and multi-drive systems. As the pioneer of Power-Take-Off (PTO) technology, they continue to be industry leaders in product innovation and custom solution. Vanair offers the most extensive product line in the industry that serves a global market in a wide range of industries and applications.

Vanair mulling expansion efforts

LA PORTE COUNTY — Vanair Manufacturing Inc. is expected to make a final decision in a matter of weeks on whether to expand its two-year-old building on County Road 300 North just west of U.S. 421.

That’s according to John Regetz, Michigan City Economic Development Corp. executive director.

The La Porte County Council approved a 10-year tax “phase in” in which the company will bring in 50 percent of the revenue that would ordinarily be brought in from an expansion for 10 years.

The next step is for Vanair to claim the abatement.

If it does, it will contribute a $5,000 fee to the county economic development fund.

Regetz said Vainair is “still in the decision process” on whether to expand its building by 30,000 square feet. An expansion like that would cost about $1 million and add 20 new jobs.

“They are looking at that as a possibility,” Regetz said.

If the decision is made to proceed with the expansion, Regetz said it would be one of the quickest he can remember since the building was put in use only two years ago.

“I think it is a great project,” he said. “Vanair has done a fine job in their initial project, which has created 20 more jobs and brought in $1 million more in revenue than anticipated.”

The new tax revenue, if the project carries on, will generate $77,000 over the 10-year period, he added.

If Vanair claims the “phase-in” opportunity and moves on with the expansion, it will generate 50 percent in new taxes for 10 years, and 100 percent every year after that.
