Bud was a very nice man and Michigan City was important to him. He was on the Chamber of Commerce Board for years and was the President of the Chamber Board in the mid 80's. He had many business interests in and around Michigan City, including one fledgling project called JRB (I forget the J, R is Ruby, and B is Brennan), which was the original investor and management group for Lighthouse Place.

1977 Jaymar-Ruby Sansabelt Slacks ad. The voice over mentions Michigan City, Indiana at the end of the ad. Plaid pants were all the rage back in those days.
