Definitely a good game, if the Wolves had more options for relief pitchers they could be a really good team. Having to rely on 2 pitchers who usually have to go the distance is unrealistic.

Hopefully they can find a 3rd pitcher, and find someone for relief in late innings. It is nice to see that the team is hitting the ball. If they can cut down on the errors and the pitchers reduce the amount of walks they should have a good year.

Absolutely! They have options with Pliske (Sophmore) but he doesn't appear to be a full time Pitcher, possibly a "what if" situation. Brad Pawloski can relief pitch too but that option seems to be a game time decision.
There are two Freshman that are possibilities, Fisk and Iacovetti.... From my understanding have extensive Travel ball experience. Fisk made the initial Varsity roster and Iacovetti has been moved up according to the ND article. I imagine this would be a learning year for them at the Varsity level but definite future prospects! If I remember correctly, Fisk was the only Freshman on the Varsity Football team too! ...., hmm!

I have seen them play a few times this year and they sure look to be well coached this year.

It will be interesting this week to see who is going to pitch since they have 4 games this week. Today, is a big game against LaPorte followed by two tough games on the road against Lake Central and Crown Point. I really like what Malone has done with this team. He seems to be very detailed on what to work with these kids on. Bobillo as an assistant is a great coach as well, with much experience as a catcher (catcher's seem to make great coaches). I could see Iacovetti playing shortstop before the year is over, but I think he will struggle some with varsity pitching. Hopefully, when Nathan Shepard is back that will provide a strong arm for the pitching rotation.
