Why does the New-Dispatch no longer publish their sports stories online?
The only thing they got currently displayed right now is four links to Drew White's May 3rd Unwritten No More column about him regaling us with a tale of when he snagged a foul ball at a White Sox game back in 2007. Are the Michigan City Wolves and Marquette Blazers spring sports teams doing so lousy that they don't want the rest of the world to know about it? Nothing online about our local golf, girls softball, baseball, track, cross country tennis or any other spring sports teams. I see the Wolves baseball team took a 7-1 loss to their cross county arch rival La Porte the other day to drop their record to a disappointing 5-12 and a dismal 1-8 in the Duneland conference but nothing was posted on the News Dispatch site. Not even any of Mike McKee's outdoors columns or Adam Parkhouse's Sunday Home Cookin' features. Seems like the only time I can find any coverage about Michigan City lately is by reading the opposing teams coverage. |

The updating of the website has been sporadic at best over the last few months. I believe that is mostly because they don't care about the website because they think if they don't people will buy the paper, forgetting that it is really 2011.

That's just stupid. A lot of people don't have access to the paper because they live out of town. I realize the N-D would mail a subscription, but why get the news late when you can jump online and read about it an hour later?
If they had a terrific website that was user friendly and updated regularly--at normal times--they could make up the lost revenue from paper sales by selling advertising on the website. Duh! Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind~Dr. Suess

That almost seems like Dollar Bill Wirtz has risen from the dead and has become in charge of the News-Dispatch Online sports page. |

There hasn't been a sports story posted on the online News-Dispatch sports page for the entire month of August. Really sad considering that our teams are now heading into fall sports season.
