MICHIGAN CITY — A mother and son have been identified by police as the two people found dead from gunshot wounds Tuesday morning.

Sharon Corr, 60, and her son, Brandon Corr, 27, were both found dead in a home in the 2800 block of Maple Street, according to an updated Police Department news release.

Michigan City police were called about 9:45 a.m. to the residence.

Police have opened a death investigation, Assistant Chief Tim Richardson said. He said more details would be released as the investigation continues.

At this time, police believe there is no threat to the public from this incident, according to the release.

Police on Tuesday said the investigation remains in its early stages and would continue into the night.
