The Following release was issued by Indiana State Police: "Trail Creek, LaPorte County-The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division was asked by Trail Creek Town Marshall Steve Dick to investigate an alleged stabbing that resulted in death that occurred this Sunday, November 23, 2014, afternoon in Trail Creek. "Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:57 p.m., this afternoon, Trail Creek Police received a 911 call about a verbal altercation taking place at a residence located at 105 Hummingbird Drive, Trail Creek. During the conversation on the phone someone yelled that it had turned into a stabbing. "Trail Creek Police arrived at the residence, shortly thereafter, and found the victim, later identified as Thomas Arndt, 54 of Michigan City, lying on the front lawn of the residence with numerous wounds to his body. A machete was found stuck in the ground nearby. Arndt was taken by ambulance to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City where he was pronounced dead. "A suspect was taken into custody at the scene by Trail Creek Police; that name is being withheld pending formal charges. "Witnesses stated that the verbal dispute was over property. "Agencies assisting: LaPorte County Prosecutor’s office, Trail Creek Police, LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan City Police Department and LaPorte County EMS |

They are saying now that Mr. Arndt's brother killed him with a samurai sword.
At halftime of the boys game yesterday at Ames Field I heard all kinds of emergency vehicle sirens like Michigan City was being invaded or something. Now I know what they were responding too. |
