I got a brand "new" centerpiece for my baseball collection, a section of Chicago Tribune newspaper that has a preview of the "New" Comiskey Park while it was being built in 1909. My question is who in town does the best framing for something of that nature? I want to make sure it is something that will save the integrity of the newspaper, but will still look really nice on my wall.

The only place I know of in town is the Framing Station down by St Paul, is that the best?

I know that guy's daughter and that was place I was going to recommend. My dad (photographer) used him a lot to frame prints he sold. As a matter of fact, Dad was looking for a place in Wyo. and commented that he was having a difficult time finding someone here as good as the Framing Station in MC.

We bought our first one there, and got a bunch of postcards from them. they framed one for us, too. My avatar is a link to the image on their webpage.

One of my friends had something framed at Hobby Lobby & said they did a nice job for a reasonable price.
Might not be your cup of tea, but it can't hurt to check it out. . . . . . . . . . .

The thing is, and especially with old paper stuff, you have to be careful what kind of glass you put in the frame. If you just use regular glass, the picture will fade or discolor. It's best to use special (and costly) glass that will filter out UV to protect the document under the glass.

I gave Framing Station a call, and it sound like I am going to spend almost 10 X's what I got the newspaper for to have it framed! Its worth it though, this is one of the coolest pieces of baseball memorabilia I have ever seen. The lady over the phone was really detailed and very friendly in explaining everything she thought I needed and why.

I would call Neil Kienitz to get the skinny on proper framing of this--the ink and paper may not be stable, etc etc. At the very least, you need acidfree matting and uv-protected glass. Call him today! By the way, Neil is an artist of some repute, so I would trust his judgment on this.
