City by the Lake.org, The Voice of Michigan City, Indiana _ City Talk _ Officer resigns over road rage incident

The story is at the link. Before I get rolling, I do want to say that I do agree with the officer no longer having a job, judging by his abuse of power and inability to control his temper.

Here is my pondering... In this case we have all of the details of the arrest, and all of the violations of the MCPD policy that he committed. Why in this case is it not deemed as a "personnel issue", and everything is kept under wraps like we have seen in other cases? He was forced to resign for violating MCPD policies, yet we know everything. What is the difference here, versus some of the other instances where the public never finds out anything?

I believe the answer to your last question is that he self-terminated his employment, so they can tell us about it. If he was fired, we never would have gotten the details. That's my guess...
