QUOTE Officials at the Washington Park Zoo in Michigan City say that they will open daily for the 2024 season starting on April 1, and this year they will be hosting "Wild Spring Preview" on March 30 and 31. "The Washington Park Zoo marks a top destination for locals and visitors, with more than 220 individual animals representing 95 species from all around the globe," the Zoo said in a statement. "Accredited by the Zoological Association of America, the zoo has been a cornerstone of Michigan City since 1928. "There is always something new to see and do at the zoo, including new animals and habitat improvements. Again this season, the zoo will host a range of special events and camps for eager learners." This year the zoo welcomes a new alpaca as well as two African leopards. Gates open for the Wild Spring Preview at 10 a.m. and will remain open until 3 p.m. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $8 for kids ages 2 -11 years, $9 for seniors ages 62 and older, and free for kids ages two and under. |
