QUOTE
After almost a year of construction and nearly a decade at its old place, Burn 'Em Brewing is about to toast its newly built location at a more high-profile spot in Michigan City.

The acclaimed and innovative craft brewery, known for craft beers like Kreamed Corn, Hipster Juicebag and 14 Buck Chuck, has long been nestled in a remote, out-of-the-way spot amid blueberry fields at 718 Freyer Road. It sent off its longtime location with a farewell bash Saturday.

Burn 'Em Brewing will open its new $1.6 million brewpub at a larger and more visible at 1215 E. 2nd St. from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Burn ‘Em Brewing, which also operates the Bare Bones Gastropub in LaPorte, first opened in Michigan City in 2015. But it outgrew its original 2,000-square-foot taproom.

The craft brewery built a new home in a former warehouse building just west of the Blue Chip Casino on one of Michigan City's most heavily trafficked roads. The new site will allow it to double its production ability and expand its distribution capacity.
