QUOTE Charity has a shot at $100,000 From Staff Reports MICHIGAN CITY - Save the Dunes Conservation Fund is one of 10 charities nationwide being considered for $100,000 from Levi's jeans, but they'll need the votes to win it. The non-profit Save the Dunes, Michigan City, aims to preserve, protect and restore the Indiana Dunes and all natural resources in Northwest Indiana's Lake Michigan watershed. During the past several weeks, gamers participating in Levi's online Grayson Ozias IV Fortune giveaway nominated hundreds of organizations with a commitment to sustainability and the environment to be considered for the $100,000 donation. Save the Dunes was announced as a finalist Wednesday. Only three of the contest finalists are regional organizations. Other groups in the running include the National Park Foundation, the Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund. The winner will be the one who receives the most votes. Visit www.levi.com/goforth, click "Vote for A Charity" and vote until Nov. 16. The winner will be announced Nov. 17. As of Wednesday night, Save the Dunes was in fourth place with 29 votes. |

Any idea how many votes the other candidates have? As of this second, first place is 629, second is 197, and Dunes is third with 109. That is up from 75 when I started watching it earlier today, and actually cutting into the first and second place leads. You can vote once from any email address, hint, hint. |
