A traffic alert Friday morning, the Franklin Street bridge in Michigan City is closed right now due to structural damage caused by the arctic temperatures.

Officials say the bridge is buckling and causing a safety hazard.

The bridge is expected to reopen on April 15.

The City is hoping to have the bridge open by April 1.
