See the Mayor Vetoes thread__
to be a celebrity in MC, you have to have at least two relatives on the public payroll and only one can be an in-law. Fore! The difference between genius and stupidity is that there are limits to genius. Albert Einstein

You go girl. If I could be in town tomorrow, I would definitely have some coffee with you. But, alas, I will have to wait till the meet and greet. Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind~Dr. Suess

Angie is a City personality because of her own accomplishments. The "celebrity" label, to my ear, implies something fluffier and less consequential--less gravitas, to use DCspeak.

According to Webster's..
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/celebrity ce·leb·ri·ty Pronunciation: \sə-ˈle-brə-tē\ Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural ce·leb·ri·ties Date: 14th century 1 : the state of being celebrated : fame 2 : a famous or celebrated person While Angie is not "famous", at CBTL she is celebrated, therefore, IMO she is a celebrity. QUOTE Coffee pour to benefit The Salvation Army Deborah Sederberg The News-Dispatch MICHIGAN CITY - If you stop by McDonald's for breakfast on Thursday morning, the mayor may be there to pour your coffee. Or Police Chief Ben Neitzel or Chief of Services John Kintzele or Chief of Operations Mark Swistek. Or Sheriff Mike Mollenhauer or former sheriff and present State Sen. Jim Arnold, as well as State Rep. Scott Pelath, or Fifth Ward City Councilman Willie Milsap. The annual Celebrity Coffee Pour to benefit The Salvation Army is 7 to 10 a.m. Thursday at McDonald's Restaurant, 3507 Franklin St. Also scheduled to pour are Purdue University-North Central Chancellor James Dworkin and Michigan City Area Schools officials, including Jan Radford, director of curriculum and instruction; Betsy Kohn, director of communication; Joan McCormick, director of special education; Jane Larson, grants resources, management and staff-development coordinator; Sarah Fine, director of student services. Sarah's husband, the Rev. Bill Fine, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, will be there as well. Phyllis Stark, president of the Michigan City Education Association, and the outgoing coroner and incoming member of the school board, Dr. Vidya Kora, will be pouring as well. From the parochial schools, Allen Boone, principal of St. Paul Lutheran; Sue Bryant, known as "Dr. B" from St. Stanislaus; and Jim White, the first-year principal of Marquette High School, will be pouring coffee. St. Anthony Memorial President Dr. Jim Callaghan, whose family is chairing The Salvation Army Campaign at Christmas this year, will be on hand. The need this year is almost overwhelming and the red kettle donations are used to help families in need throughout the year. "We can hardly keep up with the calls for help," said De Nita Ton, director of community service for The Salvation Army. Maj. Brian Burkett, corps officer at The Salvation Army, expects to serve as many as 2,000 families this Christmas season. Although the Coffee Pour will be at the Play Place McDonald's, Glenn Lubeznik, owner of the three McDonald's restaurants in Michigan City, will donate proceeds from the sale of coffee all day from all three restaurants to The Salvation Army. Ton remembers that Lubeznik never hesitated when asked to host the coffee pour years ago. "He is a very generous man," Ton said. Sure it is, just put on the shark-proof wetsuit!
This is actually an example of a good combo of local beneficiary, local celebs, and local coverage. See? No need for a lifeguard. The difference between genius and stupidity is that there are limits to genius. Albert Einstein

Such a great idea - but when I read this -
"Although the Coffee Pour will be at the Play Place McDonald's, Glenn Lubeznik, owner of the three McDonald's restaurants in Michigan City, will donate proceeds from the sale of coffee all day from all three restaurants to The Salvation Army." Uh - where is the 3rd McD's in MC??? |

Take a chocolate revolver aboard, hijack the bus to go that way, then eat the gun before the cops get there.

If that were me, I would probably have the gun half eaten before the time to hijak occurred.
