The football team has opened training camp, and Michigan City sophomore Ryan Isaac has been seeing reps at defensive end, after having been a defensive tackle, receiving playing time in the back half of his freshman season.

The Boilermakers already were looking to “replace” Ryan Kerrigan, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year who the Redskins selected No. 16 overall in the NFL Draft.

I am so proud of this young man. He has a sincere interest in helping others and being an assest to everything that he is involved in, especially football. Purdue was wise to choose him. He hopefully will bring lookers back to Michigan City and the program is trying to have plenty for them to look at here back home. My best wishes to Ryan and his future.
