Polish Heritage Fest in Michigan City, September 16th, 2012

Information from Mark Kolasa, Chairman of Polish Heritage Fest:

On Sunday, September 16th, 2012 there is going to be the first Polish Heritage Fest in Michigan City, Indiana. It will be held at the International Friendship Gardens in Michigan City located at 2055 East U.S. Highway 12, approximately one mile east of the Blue Chip Casino.

Our Program:

start of the festival with Mass in Polish and English with choirs from local Polish parishes at 11:00 am in the Celebration Garden
Food booth - Cavalier Inn from Hammond, IN
Beer Garden
Polka band - E-Z Tones
Folk dance group - Wesoły Lud from Chicago
Children activities
Cultural displays
Pisanki display and demonstrations
Representations by Polish organizations

There are so many beautiful gardens to explore of different ethnic groups at the International Friendship Gardens. One of the goals of this festival is to raise money to restore the bust of Paderewski, which was destroyed and was located in the Polish Garden.

This is the first Polish Festival to be held in Northwest Indiana. We would like to make this an annual festival to bring and unite the Polish people together. This is a great event to unite Polonia.

Um....I thought the St. Joe Club also had a polish festival, not to mention the polish festival in LaPorte.
He must mean "authentic" polish festival.
