MICHIGAN CITY - Michigan City has announced special brush collection for residents to dispose of limbs and other yard debris from last week's storm.

Three routes have been announced, with collection each day of the week.

Route 1

Monday: Franklin Street to Kentucky Street, Fourth Street to 11th Street, Kentucky to County Line Road, and 10th Street to Addison.

Tuesday: Franklin Street to Kentucky Street and 11th Street to Barker.

Wednesday: Fourth Street to 10th Street, Huron Street to Sheridan Street, Barker to Arthur, Franklin Street to Logansport Street, Ohio Street to Hitchcock Road and Henry Street to U.S. 20.

Thursday: Fourth Street to 10th Street, Huron Street to Sheridan Street, Harrison to Coolspring and Franklin Street to Ohio Street.

Friday: Go back through Route 1 and then Coolspring to Kieffer Road and Franklin Street to Ohio Street.

Route 2

Monday: Franklin Street to Maple Street, Michigan Boulevard to 11th Street, Michigan Boulevard to Barker Avenue, Hendricks Street to Woodland Avenue, Michigan Boulevard to Grove Street and Woodland to Carroll Avenue.

Tuesday: Oak Street to Franklin Street, 11th Street to Barker Avenue, Barker Avenue to Gardena Street, Jackson Street to Roeske Avenue, Michigan Boulevard to Gardena, Roeske to Carroll Avenue and Pahs Road.

Wednesday: Michigan Boulevard to Barker Avenue and Oak Street to Cleveland Avenue.

Thursday: Franklin Street to Tilden Avenue, Barker Avenue to Greenwood Avenue, Cleveland Avenue to Hendricks Street, Michigan Boulevard to Barker Avenue, Greenwood to Coolspring and Tilden Street to White Oak.

Friday: Coolspring Avenue to U.S. 20, Franklin Street to Woodland Avenue, Franklin Street to Tilden Avenue and Harrison Street to Coolspring Avenue.

Route 3

Monday: Second Street to Colfax Street, Center Street to Lake Shore Drive.

Tuesday: Center Street to Liberty Trail, Second Street to Springland Avenue, U.S. 12 to Overhill Trail, St. Andrews to El Portal and Tall Timbers.

Wednesday: Springland Avenue to Island Drive, Liberty trail to Eastwood and Lakeland.

Thursday: Springland Avenue to Michigan Boulevard, Eighth Street to Grace Street, U.S. 12 to Warnke Road, and Eastwood to Meer Road.

Friday: Grace Street to Roeske Avenue, Michigan Boulevard to Springland Avenue, Roeske Avenue to U.S. 12 and Warnke to Michigan Boulevard.

I had that same thought!! I also wondered about picks, although there aren't as many of them anymore since the afro went out of style
