Invention Coming To MC
Boating

From Staff Reports

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Mercury Marine, the world's leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, announced Tuesday an on-the-water event to introduce its latest product.

The Axius and Zeus advanced control system is a joystick control system designed to make maneuvering and docking boats in tight quarters simpler, regardless of weather and water conditions.

In addition to inviting boating enthusiasts to come and test drive a boat with an Axius (gas) and/or Zeus (diesel) system, Mercury Marine will also host a Kids Docking Challenge to demonstrate the simplicity of the new design.

"It is important for both experienced boaters and even novices who are thinking about boating to try out our Axius and Zeus technology," said Steve Fleming, the director of communications for Mercury Marine. "The ease of docking and maneuvering is unparalleled and represents a revolutionary breakthrough in boating technology."

The test drive will take place Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at B&E Marine, 31 Lake Shore Drive, Michigan City. The kids challenge will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
