Tim, I am surprised you did not know this! Are you a descendent?

Yeah - seeing as how I know everything. Ha ha. No - I don't think we're related. My dad is the biggest pro-MC guy around - if we WERE related to MC's first resident, I'm sure he would have said something.

Name the well known Michigan City Born and Breed architect who studied under Frank Lloyd Wridght and Mies Van Der Rohe. This person is still alive and his heritage goes back four or five generations in Michigan City. He was instrumental in the design of O'Hare Airport and the FBI Building in D.C along with a slew of other buildings. He no longer lives in town but still has a residence in M.C.

Hoppy Gipson is Nate Gipson. Works for NIPSCO and I believe he sits on the school board. That team also included Fred LaBorn, Gene Simmons, and Rob McFarland.

Actually, Gene Simmons is the former MCPD Chief. And Rob McFarland works for St. Andrew's Products-they sell sports apparel. MCHS has a huge contract with them for the Athletic Department and Rob is the rep.
Fred LaBorn did work Admin at MCAS but retired last year.

If you go in the Heritage Hall at MCHS, they still have all the life-sized cardboard cutouts of the team and Rob McFarland donated his letter jacket which is hanging in one of the "locker" displays, I believe.
All those guys grew up to be successful. I don't think there is one sad story out of the bunch.

Yes, Ang - I know who MC's Gene Simmons is. I remember those life-size things hanging on the wall in the Elston gym. I'd wondered where they went.

Got a question for the Trivia Game, Ang?

I know those cutouts very well. Actually, I have been staring at them since Heritage Hall opened.

MCHS (Mich City High School), just East (South?) of the gym.

And for all you "old folks" who are out of town, it's in the Roger's gym lobby by the tennis courts, opposite of the lobby by the pool. biggrin.gif
