Heard it on WIMS this morning. What a loss...great coffee, great place. I hope that their neighboring business, Candy Planet, makes it. In fact, let's all start making sure to patronize them!

Damn. I know Angie Starks has promoted the crap out of that place. That's a blow to that area.

I know. The rumor is that their rent was really high...so their overhead costs were no longer realistic.

But I still think we should all do our part for their neighbor...Candy Planet!

They have the best selection of nostalgic candy, and they make great gift baskets. I'm still planning to stop in before Chistmas to pick up at least one of the Webkinz for my kids.

At this rate, Michigan City will be a ghost town before too long.

Hey, I heard about it on WIMS, too. Are we the only two people listening in the A.?

laugh.gif I think there are 4-5 of us. I hear Angie Starks, some lady named Betty, and her son call in often.
Guess we should just win the things that Ric is giving away...

Wow. Seemed like every time I drove by I saw people in there, especially on the weekends. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I was not a patron, but that is disappointing. I'm having a hard time thinking of a locally owned and operated business opened in the last five years that's thriving. It's fine to keep the big boxes going (Meijer, Wal-Mart), but it's a shame the locals can't survive.

Tiana is one of my best friends and I wish there was a way to keep it open. It is a shame. It's very upsetting but you have to be able to take care of home also. Just wish her well and stop by to see her. You don't have to drink coffee (buy some tea)! I hope Candy Planet can survive.

I do not stop for coffee or tea there or anywhere, actually, as a habit. I have gotten the tea and cake. I am very disappointed that they must close. Local places must get our custom or we will not have any around.

I believe that PNC didn't renew her vendor contract earlier in the year. I heard that her business plan was very dependent on operating at both locations and once the one went it was only a matter of time...
