It's a long trip from my apartment in Kobe to my mom and dad's house in Edgewood - but I'll be there this week-end celebrating my folks' 60th anniversary. This is what I look like -
I'll be at the fireworks on Sunday - should you happen to see me, please say hello! T |

GET A HAIR CUT MAN!!!
Anyways, anywhere special you like to hang out for the show? I think I will be up there with the brother, his wife, and my oldest. We usually sit along the main road there by the boat slips on the way out of the park. |

In the original post, I get a line that says "IBP Image" but no photo. What gives?

Interesting note about the words for Thank You and Battered: They both come from Portuguese.

Can you give me an example of an ergative construction in Japanese?

Japanese is a accusative language.
And yes, I had to look that one up too 80% of Japanese: Subject >>> Object >>> Verb 20% of Japanese Verb. (Subject, object are implied by the nature of the conversation you're having) |

Tim, that's really cool. I don't know if I could live there without my Lazy Boy and Serta, though! lol
I haven't been able to go to Osaka yet, but we finally went to Kyoto and Hiroshima on our last trip - my jaw was agape for much of the trip! Took so many pictures, but ironically it was very difficult to find a place to off load the pictures from the memory card. |

I just got back to my apartment in Kobe. What a great time I had in MC! Highlights -
The folks' anniversary party was a huge success! Unfortunately, we watched the Cubs lose in the rain on Thursday - but going to Wrigley Field is a Miller family tradition, so we still had a blast! Had lunch at Redamak's - if heaven has cheeseburgers, they'll taste like the one I ate on Friday. Went to the fireworks on Sunday - a fun MC evening in the park! I've been gone since '84 - every trip home is so special, I'm already looking forward to the next one! |

What did you notice that is different than what you saw the last time you were in MC? Good question! That hotel! Looked ugly to me - but if it's good for MC $-wise, I guess it's good. Lindo's was open - it wasn't the last two times I was there. Had a great breakfast the day I left. The mall is a freaking ghost town! How sad - even driving by at 11:30AM there were NO cars in the lot. America's obesity problem was on display more that ever - especially at the fireworks, where more girls than ever were dancing in bare-midriff clothes they didn't belong in, while guys had guts that hung way over their belt. But the the good thing is Michigan City still feels like a happy, positive place - despite current national economic woes. As such, coming home is always great. |
