found this...I hope it's just a rumor...he's a nice guy and the kids seem to like him...we're short on male African American Role models at MCAS!

Looks like they fired their previous coach for failing to win despite having one of the top point guards in the nation who will be a senior next season.
Just by searching through the list of finalists, IMO coach Boyd would be the best long term candidate for the job. One things for sure, quite a unique set of circumstances surrounding the Pike Township girls basketball team.  |

In the category of FWIW, the same site that posted Boyd was going to be hired at Pike, is now reporting that he is not in the running anymore.

Another update reporting that Boyd was not in the final three candidates. I am going to try to catch up with him over the next couple of days to get his reaction.

Well, that's good for City right now. But, if Boyd is already looking for another job, what does that mean for the future of City?

I guess that's the risk we take when you hire a big name coach or manager, it's no different than a corporate setting. Headquarters will send someome to run the plant for a short term, he/she does what they to do, they get another promotion then move on and relocate somewhere else. That's kinda the thing that bothers me, they actually are not willing to LIVE in Michigan City. |
