MICHIGAN CITY — A 37-year-old LaPorte man, whose body was found Monday in Trail Creek, had died as a result of drowning, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Tommie Allison, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

While an autopsy was done Tuesday morning, it remains unclear how or exactly when Allison entered the water, according to conservation officers. It is believed he entered the water within the last week.

Anyone with any information, or who may have been with Allison or observed him near Trail Creek within the last week, is requested to contact conservation officers at 812-837-9536.
