Hi all! I am hoping to solicit some help and donations. My first graders at Knapp Elementary School are going to have a pancake breakfast to raise money for Riley's Children's Hospital. The breakfast is going to be on March 14th at the Senior Center. We are looking for donations and patrons. Tickets are on sale at Knapp for $5 each. All proceeds go directly to the hospital. Last year we raised over $5000! I am very proud that my new group would like to be involved. Anything that you can do to help would be greatly appreciated! I believe that it is very important to teach children while they are young to give back to others!
Thanks! Shannon |

I went last year and the kids did such a great job it left me wondering. Why an event of such a large scale with so many kids involved for such a worthy cause, was not plastered all over the front page of the newspaper? I had a fantastic time, I will be there again.

IIRC we had a discussion about this here. I remember you said this very same thing about lack of media coverage for such a worthy event and what a great job the kids did. If I remember some car windows were broken by a couple of kids around the same time (front page coverage) making all children rotten. |

Only if there is going to be another blizzard with below freezing temps Oh, and you have to have an ice storm the day before I'm supposed to get there. ha ha! Actually, I'm looking at a possible trip in May. Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind~Dr. Suess

QUOTE First graders serving tall stack We are first graders in Mrs. Chavis' class at Knapp Elementary School. We need your help. Last year the class had a pancake breakfast to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital. We want to help, too. We are going to have another pancake breakfast in March. We need supplies or money to have the breakfast, including pancake mix, napkins, forks, knives and plates, syrup, juice, coffee, creamer and sugar, eggs and milk. Thank you for helping us help the children. Mrs. Chavis' Class Knapp School |
