All righty gang, I am starting my collection of stories for the Top 10 News Stories of the Year for Michigan City. Any suggestions?

I'll throw some out there

1. Lee Debagia Jr. resigns as principal at MCHS,
2. Gerry Peters murder
3. Isiah Wright murder
4. Michigan City Jr. Pee Wee Division II Football team becomes national runner-ups as they advanced to the finals at Pop Warner Super Bowl
5. Michigan City High School girls basketball team defeats previouly unbeaten Merrillville and goes on to win sectionals.
6. Michigan City girls tennis team wins another sectional title under new head coach Don Varda
7. Michigan City Wolves football team upsets state ranked Lake Central ending a horrible 16 game DAC losing streak
8. Michigan City boys basketball team loses another gutwrenching heartbreaker to Merrillville blowing a 10 point halftime lead in the sectional finals
9. Due to Michigan City Pop Warner failure to fill a Jr. Midget team roster coaches, players and parents are forced to join up with the the Gary Steelers Pop Warner organization, team advanced to the Pop Warner Super Bowl.
10. Boat race called off
11. Former K-Mart building demolished to make way for Kohl's.
12. County commission passes strip club ordinance.
13. Ron Meer sworn in as mayor
14. Warren Building/Artspace project fails to procure funding from downstate.
15. Debroah Chubb and Marty Corley elected as new school board members
16. Goerg Marine building demolished
17. Federal-Mogul Wiper products announces it will cease Michigan City operations
18. Jewel-Osco closes, Al's takes over Franklin St. location
19. NICTD announces north end track relocation plan that would demolish police headquarters, city hall and News Dispatch building.
20. Mayor Meer confronts window smashing maniac at City Hall
21. City aquiring former Eastport school building for new police headquarters
22. Construction of U.S. Army reserve base begins on Pahs Rd.
23. Michigan man murders family then commits suicide and kills innocent motorist on I-94
