I grew up in Springfield so we had to make our own sledding areas, but where is the best place to go sledding in MC for free? I want to take my 5 year girl Saturday
thanks in advance |

I saw some families sledding down the dune area at the Pines cut off on Hwy 20 last weekend.
Nothing is worth more than this day!

Out by Mullen school used to be our fav place. Now that the new school is there, I have no idea what the area looks like, but that's where we would go. Either that or at the end of the road that leads to Weil-McLain. Forgive me because I'm terrible with street names, but if you turn off 12 across from Blue Chip and go down that little curvy road where Blocksom is, there is a little bar on the right and playground across from it. There is a really nice sledding hill there, you just have to be careful not to slide all the way to road!

Try by Eastport, unless they have locked it up.

There are a lot of people who use the hill behind Eastport school. My son (also about 5) was a little nervous at first because it's large, and a bit fast, for someone that age. But by the 2nd or 3rd run, he was in the groove.

It's been many years ago, but use to take the kiddos to Bendix woods for tubing. It was pretty nice.

Bendix Woods is fun, but you have to pay.
