Regular water testing Thursday showed five beaches in LaPorte County had levels of E. coli that pose a health risk to swimmers.

Stop 20 Beach -- Long Beach, Stop 24 Beach -- Long Beach, Stop 31 Beach -- Duneland Beach, Stop 34 Beach Duneland Beach and Stop 37 Beach -- Michiana Shore have all been closed, according to a LaPorte County Health Department news release. Red signs at beaches show they are closed, yellow indicates people should swim with caution, and green means the water quality is satisfactory.

I got an idea, let's allow people to build McMansions with 10 bathrooms on the lake side of Lake Shore Drive and put septic tanks in that are only 6 feet above the water line. That will help things, won't it???
