http://www.thenewsdispatch.com/news/articl...b13c033b4a.html QUOTE Family seeks help in locating missing MC man Posted: Tuesday, December 2, 2014 3:19 pm By RICHARD CHAMBERS Staff Writer | 0 comments MICHIGAN CITY – Family members of Damarius Kelly, 20, are looking for public assistance in their search for the Michigan City man, who has not been seen since Wednesday, Nov. 26. Cousin Lekecha Watkins said that Kelly is not the sort of person who would leave without telling anyone. As far as she knows, no one has heard anything from him since before Thanksgiving. Watkins' son, Javaughn Garner, saw Kelly about every day. Garner last saw Kelly about midnight Wednesday morning while dropping off him behind an uncle's house across from Petti Grocery on E. Michigan Boulevard. Cousin Jelani Kiner said that he saw Kelly in the 600 block of Walker Street at 3:30 p.m. with another African-American male wearing a red and black flannel shirt and a hat. Kelly was knocking on a door. Garner said that the only places he can think that Kelly might be are around E. Michigan Boulevard and Walker Street, but people have been searching that area for the past week. He said that Kelly had no permanent home and was staying with different familly members in Michigan City. Dimitrious Taylor, Kelly's oldest brother, said that the public should contact the Michigan City Police Department or call him at 219-221-5895. Taylor also said that Kelly is not the type of person to leave unexpectedly. "He don't miss a meal – and he know his family cooks for the holidays," Taylor said. He also believes that Kelly was seen with his girlfriend on Wednesday about 5 p.m. "He's just a quiet young man. He kind of stays to himself," Taylor said. |

Sadly the search for Mr. Kelly has come to a tragic end today.
Condolences go out to all his family, friends and searchers. QUOTE We are so very sad to report that the earthly remains of Damarius Kelly were located this evening. His family and friend are griefstricken and in shock right now. They are asking for patience and privacy in their time of grief. Much will becime known about what happened to Damarius in the coming days and weeks, but today is not the day for those kinds of questions. Today is a day to provide prayers and wishes of peace and comfort for the family and friends who lost their gentle giant. As always...when we know more, you will know more. |
