I am not quite sure I understand how one is arrested for drunk driving a car into a pond yet "She showed no signs of her inebriated state at the time of her jail intake."

Wednesday, the La Porte County Commissioners approved a $200,000 payment from county government's liability claims fund. It covers the balance of the settlement, with a claim to be covered by the county’s liability insurance carrier Travelers Insurance. 33-year-old Rachel Barnes was arrested for operating while intoxicated after driving her car into a pond near Michigan City in April of 2015, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S District Court at South Bend. |
