Spent some time in the U-Pick orchards at Garwood's over the weekend with the family. My kids loved it! Rightnow, they have all kids of things available...apples of many varieties, eggplant, tomatoes, various peppers, pumpkins, etc. It's a great time to head out that way.

If the U-Pick just isn't your thing, stop at the market (just down the road a piece). Homemade donuts, cider, fresh fruits & vegetables, apple butter, various salsas and sauces...great stuff.

You can also check them out online before you go: www.garwoodorchard.com

You guys are killing me. I'd step over my best buddy in the street to get at some fresh cider and donuts.

They have a TON of fresh stuff. Homemade spices, sauces, and jams, not to mention locally made meats. You can spend a fortune in there without even trying.

BTW, I almost forgot, I heard the WIMS crew out there over the weekend, and they sounded great. Talk about a group happy to be on assignment. They sounded like they were ready to move the studios out there!

After indulging in the donuts, redeem yourself by taking home a jar or three of the pickled green beans. YUM!

STAY AWAY FROM THE GIRL WITH THE ITALIAN ICE CREAM SAMPLES!!!!! The girl tried killing me (I am diabetic) the sample led to a purchase. And of course the purchase could not be a small. There is no honor in waisting somthing so damm good, so I had to finish it. Almost had no room for the peach paistry!

I swear, it wasn't me... wink.gif

In all seriousness, this is the LAST weekend for U-pick at Garwoods for this year. They close for the season this Sunday evening (I think at 5pm). They're also discounting the apples to 50 cents a pound...whatta deal!
