City by the Lake.org, The Voice of Michigan City, Indiana _ City Living _ Accurate Transmission advertising signs on NIPSCO poles???

Posted by: taxthedeer Aug 12 2015, 06:32 AM

Can't help but notice driving around town that there are quite a number of signs posted on the NIPSCO utility poles advertising a company called "Accurate Transmission".

Is this even a legitimate business and who is the owner and operator?

Is there any type of ordinance that prevents business from posting on the utility poles?

Would something such as this be permitted downstate in more higher class and upscale municipalities like Carmel, Fishers or Noblesville?

Last primary season I had my John Espar for prosecutor sign on the wrong side of the sidewalk and it was promptly removed. This primary season I made sure that my Brett Kelley Sr. sign was placed in my yard and I am going to make sure that during general election season I am going to have my three republican council candidate signs in my yard also.

I remember growing up in Portage back in the 70s when the late Bob Goin was the mayor that things were getting so out of hand that all Portage residents and businesses were fined for posting anything to a NIPSCO utility pole.
