Reports say that despite of missing a few of their players they had most of their regulars on the court and they did not play very well at all. Most of the players seemed like they really didn't care and were just kind of out there and didn't seem to show much of a sense of urgency. I know this is just summer basketball but hopefully a lack of maturity, focus and discipline will not be a big problem for this group in upcoming winter season. I guess it all depends if "good" City or "bad" City shows up. |

At the end of the day, those girls are the only ones who can beat them. If they get a freshman or JV girl to step up, this is a team that could go to Indy. Hopefully they realize that they need to go to war with the other team, and not each other.

Well ... maybe they'll just go to Indy cuz they want to ... ever think of that, Mr. Smartypants! The City girls basketball reputation took a brutal beat down with this 53-29 loss to Penn in their rematch of the 4A regional semi-final: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tSL9jgrhfI...player_embedded |

Looks like one of the teams to beat out for next season is going to be La Porte, they played pretty much the same Penn squad that absolutely clobbered our City girls and the Slicers came away with a 44-31 victory. Quite a turnaround from a few years ago for Coach Heath's team.
