Tickets are on sale for the 47th Pageant of Drums, Drum & Bugle Corps Show, co-sponsored by the Michigan City Summer Festival Committee and The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Ames Field.

The lineup will include six Division 1 corps, including the seven-time Drum Corps International World Champion Cavaliers from Rosemont, Ill., the defending 2006 World Champions.

Also appearing will be the Bluecoats from Canton, Ohio; The Glassmen from Toledo, Ohio; Blue Stars from LaCrosse, Wis.; Colts from Dubuque, Iowa; and Pioneer from Milwaukee, Wis.

Special exhibition performances before and after the competition will be provided by The Classic Cavaliers Alumni Corps and The Bushwackers from Franklin, N.J. The Bushwackers are six-time Drum Corps Associates Senior World Champions.

The Michigan City High School Wolfpack Marching Band will perform “The Star Spangled Banner.”

The Cavaliers also will present a special rehearsal and performance from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the show. It will be free to the public.

“This is a great line-up we've got this year. This is the first all Division 1 lineup we've had since 1998,” said Mike Pease, chairman of the show. “We are especially excited to have The Bushwackers come to Michigan City to perform. No one should miss this year's show.”

The 2006 Pageant of Drums was voted top drum-corps show by the DCI Central corps directors. This is the second time the Michigan City Pageant of Drums show has been selected “Best Show.”

“We are proud to have won the top-show award. It says a lot for the community, volunteers and everyone who makes the show a success,” said Pease.
