As a South Shore commuter, this just makes me shake my head in bewilderment.

A Michigan City man aboard the South Shore Railroad who threatened to shoot the conductor was arrested early this morning, according to a press release from the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District transit police.

After the conductor of the train told David Wolf, 37, who was acting unruly, to behave himself on eastbound train around 1:47 a.m. today, Wolf kicked an open pop can at the conductor, triggering nearby passengers to admonish Wolf for his behavior, police said.

Indignant, Wolf said he would shoot the conductor, and then reached for his ankle as if to pull a handgun from under his pant leg, according to the press release. Gary Police officers boarded the train at the Miller Station in Gary, and along with NICTD transit police arrested Wolf.

No weapon was found on Wolf, and he was taken to Lake County Jail and charged with intimidation and public intoxication.

Wolf’s friend, Myles Kuchik, 24, of Michigan City, was also taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana.
