This was by far the quickest response I have gotten after sending a candidate questions! Good luck to Mr Roush in the up coming primary.

What is your position on the Bush tax cuts? Would you vote to extend them?

I oppose any and all tax cuts for the wealthy. Historically, the greatest tax burden has been put on those that can most afford it But in recent times, our political leadership is more and more trying to shift that burden onto the poor and middle class, those who can least afford it.

What do you believe the US should do in Iraq? Should we have a timetable, an immediate withdrawal, or fight until we win?

An immediate withdrawal. We have accomplished the original goals set forth at the beginning of "Bush's Blunder", and it is not up to us to referee what is basically a civil war. Most of the fighting is a result of the Iraqi people wanting us out of their country.

John McCain has made earmark reform a part of his campaign, do you
believe we should freeze earmarks totally?

Yes!

With the problems in mortgage lending, what would you like to see Congress's involvement in moving forward be?

Helping legitimate homeowners get fixed rate loans, and prosecuting the corrupt individuals that originated loans that were known, or should have been known, were issued under fraudulent circumstances.

With the rising cost of energy in the United States, is there a plan that you have for either reducing costs to consumers, or moving us away from fossil fuels?

We need a national mandate to go green. We need solar panels and wind generators on all homes for both heat and electricity. We need wind generator parks to be a common sight. We need to convert as much of our transportation fleet to convert to solar and hydrogen power. We need to make the internal combustion engine a very little used item.

The manufacturing of these items needs to be done in this country, and the resultant creation of manufacturing and installation jobs will help to get our economy back on its' feet.

Do you have any opinion on the incident involving Tony Zirkle appearing at the Socialist gathering?

I wonder if Zirkle doesn't realize how much of a racist bigot he is, in my opinion. He can't look at or talk about people without categorizing everyone by their ethnic background. He needs to reread his Bible, pay close attention to the words in red, and pray for his heart and mind to be opened so as to see himself as everyone else does.
