I'm reading a lot on the FB/MC page about condoms being thrown from a boat in the boat parade - any info? In light of the fact that there were children in the audience it seems like a pretty.... un-thought-out idea.

I was there and didn't see any condoms being thrown. There was candy and beads, but no condoms that I saw....

I was at 8th and Franklin along with a couple of youngsters. All I saw thrown was beads and T-Shirts.

Who was throwing the condoms?

Would this be one of the offending projectiles in question?

Wow... classy...

if my three year old caught that, I would have shoved it in the water intake of that boat. Not cool.

Nothing wrong with condoms. You dont need to make a big deal about it. I didnt know what tampons were when I was a little kid either but i saw them and took some apart. I saw condoms too, the package said prophylactics, in my parents room. I remember I asked my mom and I think she made something up. Condoms are very good things. They prevent disease and can help with family planning. Condoms are a 100 percent positive thing. Having a child you dont want or dont care for is much much worse.

I don't plan on making a big deal about it but we can agree to disagree. I just don't think it's very tasteful to be tossing out condoms at a family function where there are a lot of kids. I'll decide when it's time to talk about the birds and the bees and wouldn't want a tossed condom to be the impetus of forcing that talk.

Looks like they tossed the condoms from the big Saratoga Resort & Spa bus as well as the Snowy Mountain Brewery boat, look at my video @ 5:03.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHQqN5iLtk0

The Spa and Brewery are both based out of Wyoming.

Besides if you are throwing condoms to people who have kids already, you are missing your market. You need to get the ones who don't have kids already!

Parents have a choice as to how and when to educate their children regarding condoms. Some idiots throwing them from a boat in a parade where children are present removes that choice.

You're seriously telling someone else what they should and shouldn't make a big deal out of?

Ugh, I agree with Tim. Completely inappropriate to be throwing those at a parade with kids present.
