Michigan City has had four murders in three months. If that keeps up, that works out to 16 murders a year. For a city with 31,479 residents, that is a murder rate of 50 per 100,000.
That puts Michigan City just behind #1 (St. Louis at 66 per 100,000). And well over Chicago (at 24.1) or Detroit (at 39.8). Good job, Mayor Meer! Good job, Michigan City Police Department! |
