MICHIGAN CITY | Winter Wonderland is a month-long celebration in the Uptown Arts District, or downtown Michigan City, presented by the Michigan City Mainstreet Association and their membership. Each weekend features something special, starting Dec. 1 with an Arts and Crafts Bazaar.

The First Friday Art Walk is Dec. 7. The All-Day Charity Day is Dec. 8. Businesses donate a percentage of all sales that day to a charity of their choice.

The Culinary Hop takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 15 and features a "taste of Michigan City." Participants from downtown businesses will sell holiday-themed foods. A chili cook off is from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 22. Chefs will prepare a variety of chili at downtown businesses.

Every Saturday throughout December will feature wagon rides, ice sculptures and free pictures with Santa at the Mainstreet Theatre.
