TONIGHT

• 8 p.m. to midnight - The Current performs at the La Porte County Fairgrounds in La Porte. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

• 8 a.m. - A patriotic program will be held at Millennium Plaza at the entrance to Washington Park in Michigan City. Mayor Chuck Oberlie will present military veterans with service medals.

• 9 a.m. - The Summer Festival's Pro-Am Beach Volleyball Tourney and Beach Jam begin at Washington Park in Michigan City. Events continue all day.

• 10 a.m. - The Long Beach Fourth of July Parade starts. Line-up is at the Long Beach Community Center (the old school). The parade goes north to Stop 24. At Stop 26 it will turn south and head back to the school.

• 10 a.m. - The La Porte Fourth of July Parade steps off on Lincolnway in La Porte.

• 6 p.m. - Gates open for fireworks at La Porte County Fairground, La Porte, with food booths and entertainment. Fireworks at dusk.

• Dusk - Fireworks, Long Beach, at the golf course. Parking is at the old school.

SUNDAY

• 1 p.m. - The Michigan City, Summer Festival Parade steps off on Franklin Street. (See parade line-up on Page A7 today.)

• 6 p.m. - The Pageant of Drums drum and bugle corps show, Ames Field, Michigan City.

I heard a rumor that they postponed the Long Beach fireworks until tonight (Sunday). Can anyone confirm or deny?

Great parade! My first one here in MC. Saw and talked to Adrienne, but missed seeing the rest of you. We walked the entire route. Our neighbors just brought us over some of their barbecue (they have been grilling for two days)! What great neighbors we have!

My husband says I'm a WIMS "groupie", and I didn't want him to make fun of me for it again. (Not that it's a bad thing, though biggrin.gif ). I think have a photo with Dave...may have to crop and zoom in to see him.
