I'm sad to report that the author Kate Collin's appearance at the library, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled. However, there are still two great programs remaining in the Writing Out Loud series:
Saturday, October 16 Indiana's best-selling novelist James Alexander Thom, author of seven books including Follow the River, which is in its 37th printing. Saturday, November 6 Writer and filmmaker Mary Pat Kelly, author of the family epic, Galway Bay. All programs begin at 7:30 p.m. The Friends of the Library will host a reception following the program and a book signing will be sponsored by the Bookstore at Lighthouse Place. Free and open to the public. The programs will be held at the the Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. Fourth Street, Michigan City. Call 219-873-3049 for more information. Writing Out Loud is a contemporary author series featuring writers talking about and reading from their work. Over the past 25 years, 115 nationally known writers and poets, including Joyce Carol Oates, Gwendolyn Brooks, Haki Madhubuti, Jane Hamilton, Catherine Ryan Hyde, Andrew Greeley, and Brad Meltzer, have appeared at the library. Thanks and check out the library's redesigned website at mclib.org. |

Have they ever had Hal Higdon there? I think he's a very good writer.
