MICHIGAN CITY, Mich. – The Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City announced that they will be reopening on June 15. Guests are encouraged but not required to wear a face covering and smoking will be allowed.

The Casino will open at 11 a.m. on June 15 Central Time with certain restrictions in place that comply with state directives.

Blue Chip open hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m.

“As we prepare to reopen Blue Chip, the health and safety of our guests, team members and the community will be our highest priority,” Brenda Temple said, Vice President and General Manager of Blue Chip.

A spokesperson for Blue Chip said that the poker room, the buffet and the pool will all remain closed.

Spa Blue Tower hotel is reopening and taking reservations, but the Blue Chip Tower hotel will remain closed for the time being.

There will also be no live entertainment.

A press preview for the Casino’s reopening has been scheduled for June 12 at 1 p.m. Central Time.

During this preview, protocols will be laid out by casino officials as part of their “Boyd Clean” health and safety effort, which include:

Mandatory face coverings and temperature checks for all team members;
Social distancing requirements and capacity restrictions across all customer and team member areas, including casino floors and restaurants;
Enhanced cleaning and sanitation of all high-touch surfaces, including door handles, gaming machines, table games, handrails and elevator buttons;
Increased placement of hand sanitizer dispensers throughout our properties;
Required training for all team members on our safety protocols.

They will survive for sure. The question is how much will the cuts hit the city.
