I just saw this announcement for a new scholarship for women 25 and older pursuing higher education:
DEMBOWSKI: WOMEN’S CAUCUS ANNOUNCES ‘POWER’ SCHOLARSHIP FOR FEMALE STUDENTS
INDIANAPOLIS - Non-traditional female students seeking financial aid are encouraged to apply for a scholarship program sponsored by the women legislators of the Indiana General Assembly.
The General Assembly’s Political Organization for Women’s Education and Representation (POWER) has created a scholarship fund specifically for women 25 and older who are looking to enhance their lives through higher education. The intent of the POWER scholarship is to help women interested in gaining the skills necessary to earn a degree and advance their careers.
“POWER’s primary goal has always been to make a positive impact on the lives of Indiana women as they strive to make a better future for themselves and the state,” said State Rep. Nancy Dembowski (D-Knox), a POWER member. “To further that goal, the women of the House and Senate have banded together to raise money for the POWER scholarship program, helping a few extraordinary Hoosier women achieve their goals.”
Two POWER Scholarships will be awarded in each of Indiana’s nine congressional districts, one in the amount of $1,000 and another in the amount of $750. Online applications can be found at http://www.in.gov/power and are due by Nov. 15.
A three person board in each congressional district will select scholarship recipients. Winners will be announced by Dec. 15
