Rumor is that City has added Bowman, Lawrence Central, and Penn to their schedule this year.

I was told at the game today that City has dropped East Chicago from the schedule but has additionally picked up away games at defending 4A state champion Indianapolis Tech which was the team Elston defeated in the 1966 state championship game as well as Whitney Young on the west side of Chicago by the United Center and will also travel to Detroit for a game.

I think most of that stuff falls next year. |

I can take the train to Chicago and ride the CTA #20 bus to the game and stop at the World Famous Billy Goat Tavern which is a couple blocks from the school for a CHEEZBOUGER, CHEEZBOURGER, CHEEZBOUGER. There is a stuffed Billy Goat inside the tavern the owner Mr. Sam Sinais took to Wrigley Field to try to reverse the Cubs curse of the Billy Goat back in the 80s. Ironically Mr. Sam purchased that Goat from Charlie O. Finleys farm in La Porte, Indiana. |

Either way, another huge game to have on the schedule. With it being on a Saturday night, maybe a trip to Indy is in order? |

I don't know about Detroit yet, but WY is an invitational tourney, yes. taxthedeer commentary: I find all this news to be very encouraging that MC is going out of the area and taking on these type inner city type of opponents. I've always felt that Michigan City High School needs to face a huge dose of reality and realize we need get away from always going against much larger suburban type schools such as Portage, Valpo, Crown Point, Lake Central and Merrillville and going up against against the public high schools from other city oriented communities such as South Bend, Elkhart, Gary, Hammond, East Chicago in addition to larger metro areas like Chicago, Indianapolis and Detroit in all of it's athletic events is where its at. That way all our kids can be playing all their games against their natural competition. |

We added all of the SB and Elkhart schools last year, now we are adding schools like Penn and Indy Tech as well. |
