Better check if those furnaces and heaters are still working. No need to be shivering of all things.....in the middle of July. http://wapo.st/1nb1106 _ |

Better check if those furnaces and heaters are still working. No need to be shivering of all things.....in the middle of July. http://wapo.st/1nb1106 _ I just saw the explanation of that last night on the local news. It's goes like this. 1. The really big Cyclone or (Typhon) that just hit Japan puts a big bulge in the jet stream. (Warm Air goes North) 2. The jet stream is stretched northward by the large low pressure area. 3. Nothing is created in nature without a balance or opposing force to balance the global temperature difference so the Jet Stream ahead of the deep low dips down over the North American Continent. When this happens the Polar Vortex is allowed to move down from Canada in a rapid manor and we have a real cold spell. So to recap. A large displacement off to our West over the Sea of Japan. which pushes warmer air North, causes an equally large displacement in the opposite direction over North America. |

Apparently there's a heat dome arriving here next week. Only question is just how hot will it get, and how long will it be. |

Now this defies conventional wisdom about twister tracks coming from southwest to northeast. Weird....way weird. _ |
