QUOTE A La Porte County grocery store worker was fired after he says he asked a woman to put on a mask and she refused. Al's supermarket has a policy of offering people a mask, but asks employees to avoid "verbal or physical confrontation when customers refuse." The employee, Joe Stewart, told us he’s not sure if he’s going to try to sue Lakeshore foods over this, but is mostly upset because he feels the corporation isn’t protecting their employees enough by having stronger enforcement of a mask mandate. The incident Stewart started working as a deli clerk at an Al’s Supermarket in Michigan City when he was furloughed from another job in March. He got his other job back but still works at Al’s part-time, saying he stayed on because he had such a good working relationship there. |
