I disagree with this totally. He just took advantage of the cards he was played, which is exactly what any lawyer worth a penny would have done. Brian Taylor's lawyer did the exact game thing, to almost the exact same result. Now if the County and local agencies hadn't have handed him this gift on a platter, none of the delays would have happened. There would have been no reason for it. It sucks that it happened, as he Larkin should have stood trial so that the legal process could truly determine guilt. But we all have civil rights, that can't be negotiated. When those rights are violated, the legal system doesn't really have any other recourse than to determine the process in that case is tainted. Unfortunately the facts of the case are immaterial to those violations of civil rights. That is why the granting and following of an accused's rights are so vital. Two different people who killed someone else are on the street now because of it. I completely understand and agree with the civil rights argument and believe that irresponsible prosecutors are negligently responsible for many future crimes committed against their "constituents". The sick joke of the current scenario is that the defendant did everything and I mean EVERYTHING in his power to delay the trial while continue living the posh life and practicing his side hobby of working the parish priest while using the most profane descriptors for his dead wife Stacey and her relatively meek and underfunded family. Listen, anything can be positioned to look like anything but this is a 20/20 special waiting to happen. He was alleged to have been denied an attorney when he asked for one. HE NEVER SAID CALL MY ATTORNEY! He just kept mumbling a first name ("call Jim/Bob") which I doubt the average person would assume was an attorney but which Blankenship determined was a clear constitutional statement for an attorney. The classy guy even called her family white trash for sending him the funeral expenses AND burying her with her wedding ring which, he Gollum-like, proclaimed was "his purchase". Of course, the poor defendant backed up such classy moves by publicly claiming that Stacey and her brother had sex. Does anybody get it? He's a rat looking for the first way off of the ship and his was called Blankenship. What don't you get? This is evil incarnate and the area should be nervous. |
