This has been mentioned in a few threads on CBTL in the past but feel it deserves a thread of it's own for posterity. I'd like to pay a small tribute to the Michigan City White Caps, the Midwest League professional minor league baseball team that called Michigan City's Ames Field it's home from 1956 - 1959. Affilliate of the New York/San Francisco Giants. Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal as well as baseball greats Matty Alou and Manny Mota all once played here for the White Caps during their illustrious professional baseball careers.
