What I am going to attempt to do is to gather all of the candidates into one place by the offices they are running for.
If there is interest, I would also like to start a subforum here which would be dedicated to the candidates who would be willing to state their platforms and/or answer questions from the posters here. Remember the more information we can get, the better informed of a decesion we can make come election day. Keep an eye on this thread for who is up for each office, and a website if I know of one. |

Canditates are placed by alphabetical order by office. A * denotes the incumbant in each office. A ? denotes incumbants who have not officially filed yet. All candidates are Democrats unless denoted by -R.

Thanks for the info gang, I have updated the stuff with a note regarding the imcumbants who are stepping down, just so all of the information is together in one place for easy reference.
Also if there is any information about canditate websites and/or emails, please either post them or send me a private message and I will post the info. Thanks again, be sure to check back here as necesary, and pass on the word to other people who might be interested in this site and the information here. |

Is this the same Mike Conner who is in real estate, just in the paper for that little shop are he thinks he can develop? If so, he is not a good person to have in office doing anything. Not a good character.

Do we know if Connor is on the ballot and not running, or just not on the ballot?

Some of you might have noticed my little remodel job by creating an area exclusively for the upcoming election. As I describe in the subforum discription, this will be a temporary area exclusively for the 2007 local elections, and all of the things that go with that. I moved all of the canditate annoucements here, along with a couple of threads on vital issues to Michigan City's future. I encourage all involved to utilize this area to its fullest potential as I know we have some candidates who are reading and posting here. Ask these people questions and educate yourself on who is potentially representing your towns future. Also for those running, you have potential voters here clamoring for information, feel free to talk about yourself, your ideas, your platform etc.
Good luck to all, and I am really looking forward to being involved in something that is probably completely unique in the history of Michigan City politics. |

A couple of things:
First, it's Virginia Martin, not Mason. Also, the proper spelling of the word is "Incumbent". |

In a novel, Kurt Vonnegut has one character who never swears because, the character says, it just gives people an excuse to not listen to you.
I add that inattention to correct spelling and grammar does the same thing. The difference between genius and stupidity is that there are limits to genius. Albert Einstein

Well, I happen to know that sometimes people are in a hurry but have something they feel is real important to say and just don't have the time to fully proof read--so accidents can happen. I also happen to know that none of you are perfect when you post and I have seen many typos, misspellings, and improper grammer--myself included.
Now, we're all friends here so I'm going to assume the above posts are light hearted banter, but remember, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Have a nice day. Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind~Dr. Suess
